IT'S A MOBILE re-creation of Hitchcock's film The Birds, And it's the answer of one group of pigeon fanciers to the British Rail decision not to carry racing pigeons by train after July I.
The Derby, Burton and District South Road Federation of Racing Pigeons has bought two Ford D-Series-based pigeon transporters capable of carrying a total of 6,000 birds.
The Cravens Homalloy body is mounted on a 523cm (206in) wheelbase chassis and all the birds can be liberated by one man pulling one lever on the truck side.
