• Although the statistics for hi-jacking of commercial goods vehicles show no improvement in the first quarter of 1969, the steady drop continues in the number of thefts from lorries left in the streets of the London area. There were only 737 cases in the first quarter as compared with 917 in the corresponding period of 1968 and 1,250 in the first quarter of 1965. These figures have been provided by the police for the vehicle secui-ity committee of the Road Haulage Association.
