BECAUSE Dutch operators engaged upon international haulage cannot enter Germany unless their vehicles comply with the latest German construction and use regulations, the engineering section of Leyland-Holland, N.Y., are adapting Leyland vehicles.
The regulations include rules that a tractor and semi-trailer outfit must be no longer than 42 ft. 8 in., and that the overall length of a lorry and independent trailer must he limited to 46 ft. LeylandHolland are converting Super Beavers and Super Hippo six-wheelers to forwardcontrol.
Pneumo-Cyclic gearboxes are being fitted to Super Beavers to meet Continental operators' preference for this refinement.
