PERSONAL PROBLEMS were blamed for a poor maintenance record over a 14-month period when Wishaw-based Kevin 1 lenderson appeared before Scottish Deputy Traffic Commissioner Richard McFarlane at a Glasgow disciplinary inquiry. Hender son. trading as JBH Transport, holds a four-vehicle licence.

Vehicle examiner Robert Handley said that since January 2002 two immediate S-marked prohibitions and four delayed prohibition notices had been issued, with four variation notices. During a maintenance investigation in March 2003 it was found that there were gaps in the inspection records of over three months for two vehicles. Inspections and repairs were of a poor standard, Handley added, and there had been no fully qualified maintenance staff since September 2002.

Henderson cited domestic problems, but that the inefficiencies were now behind him. Taking no act ion.the DTC said personal problems were no excuse hut there were no previous convictions.
