has won a year-long battle to receive the grant aid he is entitled to for using an environmentally friendly truck after his case was highlighted by CM.

The Energy Saving Trust (EST), which promotes the use of environmentally friendly vehicles for the government, now promises to pay him the £450 grant.

Hodgkinson, from Alfreton. Derbyshire, described the grant scheme as a scam when it emerged that EST's funding had been used up six months ahead of schedule (CM 20 November).

Despite the EST's promise to pay up he is still angry that there will be a further delay before his cheque arrives.

"It's nearly 12 months since I should have received the money," he says. "It's a joke that I'm having to wait another month to a monthand-a-half for it to come."

He says it is only thanks to CM that the money is being paid out. -There must be lots of other pe, ple out there who have simp given up the ghost," he adds.

Clive Case, transport spoke man for EST, says it regrets ti difficulties that have been expel enced by Hodgkinson.

He adds that funding for t1 grants has not run out, but has sin ply been committed for the rest this financial year. "The Depar ment for Transport has confirme that further funds will be availab for the next," he says.
