Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Plenty of people in this industry of ours won't celebrate the opening of the new M6 Toll. At £11 a throw it's an extravagance many will have to do without on a lot of jobs £22 a day represents the difference between profit and loss. That's not to say the M6 Toll is a bad thing, merely that it doesn't suit the needs of the freight sector. So what's new? Look at the railways, which are definitely more suited to moving people than goods, and most transport legislation. which also puts cars ahead of trucks.

The M6 Toll is best suited to the main cause of congestion cars and motorists should be encouraged to use it wherever possible. So it's ironic that the TV news this week has reported a threatened boycott of the new toll road by the car driving public. It's tempting to throw our weight behind this, because a successful boycott could mean the end of the toll. But that might not be in our interest, because if enough cars use the toll route (and £3 doesn't seem bad value) it will ease the flow on the main M6. making life easier for all. " If enough cars use the toll

route, it will ease the flow on the main M6"

In our 1 January issue we'll be taking a truck along the M6 Toll to see how it compares to the more established routes, in terms of time and cost.
