The new training point values were agreed by the finance and general purposes committee last week when it considered employers' claims for the year ended last July 31.

The values are £1.22 (road haulage), £1.48 (furniture removals), £3.45 (vehicle bodybuilding and repair), £1.18 (motor vehicle retail and repair), 30p (motor factors), and £1.41 (car hire).

Employers will be sent netting statements, crediting specific grants and exemption or levy rebate grants already notified, and these amounts will be offset against the second instalment of levy, based on 0.6 per cent of employee emoluments.

Where levy exceeds grants, the balance due is payable on receipt of account. Where grant exceeds levy, the RTITB's cheque for the balance will be enclosed.
