Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Announced this week is the formation, within the John Brown Engineering Group,

of a new national sales organization, Cravens Industries"Sales Ltd, to market the standard range of products manufactured in the commercial vehicle field by the Cravens Homalloy and Taskers Trailers companies at their seven UK factories.

Initially, the sales company, which is based at Andover, will field a sales force of 20 representatives, the nucleus of which is the amalgamation of the Cravens Homalloy and Taskers sales teams.

These representatives will work in specific areas covering the whole country and in close liaison with a national network of regional offices and officially appointed distributors. Technical back-up and service facilities will be provided by the Group's factory-based centres at Andover, Cumbernauld, Garstang, Preston, Rochford, Sheffield and Woodville.

Director and general manager of Cravens Industries Sales is Mr Norman Mellors, with Mr Ian J. McIntosh as general sales manager and Mr Frank Saville as marketing manager.

Standard products manufactured within the Group include frameless boxvans, a comprehensive range of semi-trailers and trailers and all types of vehicle body work.

"All these products," said Mr Mellors, "are in the commercial vehicle field and are interrelated with one another. This being so, it makes good sense to create a 'Third Force', as it were, to co-ordinate the marketing activities of what, in effect, is a third transportation manufacturing company of significant capacity in the industry today."
