Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN CASE the gentleness of the 1966-67 winter has made anyone complacent Mr. W. E. Weisflog's Recent Developments in Snow Clearing Machinery and Methods published earlier this year, shows that the experts are forecasting harder winters for the future than those experienced during the first 40 years of the present century.

Conditions of snow and ice vary so widely that the Rolba volume mentioned, with its wide-ranging treatment of the subject and many illustrations, will repay close examination. In the hillier counties the Rolba-Unimog snowblower seems to have made good progress lately. This unit is certainly well proved for Aberdeen put Britain's first one into action 11 years ago.

A notable feature of the design is the milling-centrifuge in which the snow is gathered by means of rotating helical cutting blades which force it into the impeller. The impeller, which works at twice the speed of the helical cutters, gives the necessary further speed-up so that the snow is cast well clear of the cutting area.
