• Following its record sales year in 1985, Freight Rover has launched a 2400,000 sales promotion campaign over the next three months to improve its share of the small-operator and private-owner van market.
The sales drive will be carried out throughout the UK involving all of its 300 dealers, with regional advertising and incentive schemes.
The campaign is intended to redress the balance in its Sherpa van sales, which are particularly strong in the larger fleet sector.
From July it will also step up van production at its Common Lane plant from 400 vehicles a week to 440. This will create 30 extra jobs, and follows increased demand for 300Series (wide-bodied) Sherpa Models.
