Britain will do what it can to get a European transport infrastructure scheme that is in this country's interests, MPs were assured last week by the Transport Minister.
Policy proposals were still under discussion, and he hoped they would be discussed at the next Transport Council meeting in June.
Mr Fowler promised to keep in mind a suggestion from Mr John Evans (Labour, Newton) that any infrastructure prosects financed by the EEC should be carried out in the assisted areas.
