THE CLOSING date for the 1981 Design Council awards is 31 July 1980. Entries are open in the following categories: engineering components, engineering products and British motor industry.

Design Council Awards are given annually for products, equipment and systems which show outstanding achievements in British design. Products can be as large as Craven Tasker's bacon trailer or as small as Bramah's padlock — the only proviso being that the product must be of British origin, and have been on the market long enough for reliable user reports.
