WOLVERHAMPTON Corporation's last trolleybus route (Wolverhampton Dudley) ceased to operate on March 6 and was replaced by double-deck diesel-engined Guy buses. Wolverhampton Corporation Transport Department's current order for 31 new Guy buses is now in the process of delivery.
The replacement vehicles are Guy Arab
Mk. V double-deckers of 30 ft. overall length, and powered by Gardner 45LW engines.
Their 72-seater Strachan bodywork is of the forward-entrance type.
When all 31 buses are in service, Wolverhampton will be operating a total of 247 Guys in its fleet.
