EIGHT articulated outfits totalling 78 tons unladen and based at Cardiff railway station are being applied for by the Western board of British Railways. The application, in the South Wales As and Ds No. 675, is for all classes of traffic within 25 miles of Cardiff, mainly railborne c. and d.
These heavy artics will be used, if granted, to service the Pengam, Cardiff, Freightliner terminal due to open this summer.
