• Linkman Tankers plans to make about 20 drivers redundant at its sites in Runcorn and Batley after losing some of its ICI Chemicals & Polymers work which was re-distributed earlier this year (CM 27 May).
The Transport Development Group subsidiary is optimistic that most of the redundancies16 at Runcorn and three at Batley—will be voluntary.
Linkman believesit lost the work because of the price it quoted in the re-tendering.
