A sample .of the oil from Hardetoft well was analysed by the late Sir Boverton Redwood, Bart. (the last analytical work engaged in by him before his sudden death), and in his report he describes it as a limpid oil of dark brown colour by transmitted light, but exhibiting strongly marked green florescence by reflected' light, and of characteristic °demi, He placed tho specific gravity of the crude oil at .528 at 60 degrees Fahr., and the flash point on Abel's test at 73 degrees Fahr.
