Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

In our issue dated June 26th we-dealt with the development of the Snorer Diesel engine as applied to commercial vehicles. We have been asked by the Saurer Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., 21, Augustus Street, Albany Street, London, N.W.1, to point out that the details of the description and the results obtained applied, in the main, to the Saucer D,type standard petrol engine converted to the Diesel principle, this conversion being done by the

D22 Saucer works very largely as an experiment for the purpose of acquiring firsthand data. This; of course, is extremely wise and in accordance with tradition in the commercial vehicle industry, where absolute reliability and high efficiency areregarded as essentials.

It is intended to Supply a number of these conversion sets to one or two of the company's customers owning large Beets, so that their standard II)type petrol petrol engines can be utilized as Diesel motors, and the results so

obtained will certainly prove very interesting both to themselves and to the maker. It is not, however, intended to adopt this procedure universally, but merely as a prelude to the introduction of the six-cylindered Diesel engine proper; of which we also gave preliminary details.

In one portion of our article we referred to the compression pressure as being 32 atmospheres, or. 47 lb. .This was obviously a. typographical error and should have read 470 lb.
