Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Quick work

THE Higher CarbIake extension of the A30 trunk road in Cornwall opened this week — only five months after Peter Lind and Co took out a ninemonth contract.

A new carriageway has been built alongside the existing A30 to form a dual carriageway from the Bodmin By-pass to the three-lane road at Higher Carblake.

Worksop by-pass

PROPOSALS for a southern by-pass of Worksop, Nottinghamshire, have been published.

The by-pass will be on the route of the A57 LiverpoolSkegness trunk road from Woodsetts Lane to near Manton Wood.

At present the A57 adds to a heavy build-up of traffic in Worksop's main shopping area.

Prices up

CHRYSLER UK has put up its prices by around 5.1 per cent due to increased costs of manufacturing. The prices include the French-built ranges — but commercial vehicle prices are increased by less than the increase on Chrysler cars.

No M-way

PLANS to build a motorway along the Dover Radial Route have been abandoned.

The Greater London Council has scrapped the proposal for a six-lane motorway about three miles long between Kidbrooke and Falconwood.

Instead, the GLC now suggests a scheme for a dual two-lane all-purpose relief road along a similar route.

New USA run

A NEW service from Britain to America, designed to open up the American mid-west, has been started by Gelders' UK Transport with a two-way weekly groupage service.

Gelders say that the new service will allow exporters to move their goods on a doorto-door basis between their Northampton base and Chicago within 21 days.
