• Wigan-based Smiths Shearings — now a subsidiary of Mecca Leisure Holidays — has been split in two with the resignation of managing director, Paul Shawbridge.
Ian Longworth is the new managing director of the bus and coach company, with Paul Eddie stone as managing director of the tours, holidays and hotels company.
Included in the group are the 70 local bus operations, the Smith Shearings and National Holidays tours fleet and 34 hotels.
